LOTS of features for the price (that are ruled and regulated!) and yes, there is a stout learning curve. Highly recommend the programming cord if you are semi PC comfortable. Also, do check out the plethora of YT vids available, I like NotaRubicon. Older vids but the UV-5R has been out for awhile so the info is still valid.
